Pumpkin Painting (and carving and scooping)

PUMPKIN CARVING COSTUMES
Mommy put on an apron, so Andrew decided he needed an apron... and a hat.
(Daddy had to have a hat, too).

"Mommy, you are so silly."

Daddy free hands our pumpkin design.

"Andrew, what color do you think the inside of the pumpkin will be?"
"Black." He has seen a lot of a Jack-o-lantern decorations .
He was a little surprised that it was yellowish.

Andrew enjoyed squishing the insides.

Andrew sat still and painted his entire pumpkin white all by himself!

Then he glued pom poms all over it!

S is for Scribner and snow (says Andrew)

Pumpkin Picking

Andrew is turning Ryan into a scarecrow by throwing straw on his head.

Ryan doesn't seem to mind too much.

Andrew thinks it is hilarious! (Mommy and Daddy don't).

Andrew found his pumpkin immediately. Then he threw it on the ground.
"That one's Ryan's," he decided.

Ryan investigated each of the pumpkins.

Andrew finds another "pumpkin" he wants to take home.

"Please, Mommy."

"What is that?"

Andrew takes a closer look.

Cool pumpkin house at the Farmer's Market.

Cutest pumpkin

Mommy chooses this pumpkin to take home with her!

Andrew tries to choose which big one he likes the best.

We had planned to get pumpkins at Baa Moo Farm, but our field trip rained out. So we had a fun family outing Saturday night to the Farmer's Market in Colfax. Andrew chose a pumpkin for himself and Ryan. Mommy and Daddy chose one to share. Andrew also decided that the apples looked yummy. While Mommy and Daddy debated on which kind we wanted to try, Andrew made the decision for us. He picked up an apple out of a peck and took a big bite. Yes, we bought those. They were really yummy. We went to play in the pumpkin house and tried to get cute pics of the boys together. Andrew thought throwing the straw on his brother's head was more fun then sitting still for a picture. (It probably was). So he came and helped us make faces at Ryan and we got these cute pictures of our littlest pumpkin.

Pinehurst-Saying Good-bye

We went to Pinehurst today to say goodbye to Grandpa and Grandma. We ate gelato at Henry's and had fun playing with some of the cousins. Daddy read stories to the little ones and Andrew had his first sleepover with his cousin Masen.

Ry-Guy Eats Rice!

Ryan turned 6 months old yesterday and had his first taste of solid food. We placed him in the Bumbo chair inside the high chair because he isn't sitting up on his own for long periods of time yet. His Daddy finally got a turn to feed him. Ryan really was much more interested in the bib around his neck than the spoon or rice cereal. Andrew cheered him on with each bite. I can't believe that he has been part of our family for six months. The time has flown by. He is such a delightful little guy. We are each grateful to have him be part of our family.

Ryan and Daddy at the Picnic

Ryan had fun with his Daddy at the picnic. He is growing so much. Ryan is such a sweet little boy and is full of smiles and giggles.

Andrew Wins Truliant Talent Show

Andrew sang a song at Chad's annual work picnic talent show. He tied for first place. (There were only 4 contestants). Chad didn't think Andrew would really sing, but he did! Not only did he sing, but he also danced and did a comedy act! In the middle of his ABCs he said, "I'm a grumpy lizard." He got so tickled by everyone's reaction, he did it over and over again. He is definitely his parents' son. He likes to be on stage, like his Mommy and likes to make people laugh, like his daddy. The DJ held up his hand over each kid and the audience voted with their applause for a winner. He tied with a little girl who did a choreographed dance. He was so proud of his trophy. (And even more excited about the pink sorbet he got to eat when he was finished).
