We are having a blast celebrating the Christmas season with our boys. Andrew is the perfect age to enjoy the magic of Christmas. He loves everything about it. He loves reading Christmas stories. He loves singing carols, he loves Christmas movies. We were driving in the car this week listening to Christmas music. Andrew spoke up from the back seat. "Mommy this is the most wonderful music ever! I love this wonderful music!" Ryan is mesmerized
by the lights and the train.
We have a train that runs around our tree that we set up Monday night for Family Home Evening. The brand new batteries were dead by Friday. Andrew plays with it from sun up to sun down, only stopping to eat and when forced to take naps or go to bed. (One would think that he didn't have a train table with a wooden train, a battery operated geotrax train, or a ride-on train in his bedroom). Ryan loves to watch the train and tries very hard to get it. Mommy is grateful that he hasn't quite figured out how to do that yet. (So is Andrew)! Though I am pretty sure by the time I write next Sunday, he will have managed to make his body do what his mind wants it to do.
Saturday night I took my 3 guys to their first parade. It was pretty cold outside, but neither one of the little boys complained. They both seemed to enjoy it. Ryan got very excited when he saw the Animal Shelter doggies walk by. He started kicking his legs and tried to leap out of my arms. Andrew loved the music. Especially the drums. He sat on Chad's shoulders and kept beat on his Daddy's head. After the parade we walked to the center of downtown for the tree lighting ceremony where we met up with Alex, Evin, Ben, and Jen. The tree lighting ceremony took longer than our attention span or our cold noses could take, so we all went back to Alex's house for pizza and decided to skip the tree lighting.
