Boys' First Real Camping Trip

(Chad posting)
Prior to this past weekend the only camping experiences the boy have had consisted of 2 overnights in the backyard. They have survived the two experiences without incident, so I guess it was time for the real thing. This past Friday night was the Father Son camp out for our stake. It was up at the Kerr Scott Reservoir in Wilkesboro, NC, which is located about an hour from our home. We arrived at 6:30pm, set up camp, and we all had a great time. The boys took the entire trip in stride. Not once did they ask to go home, which is really saying something.

We shared a campsite with friends, and the boys had NO problem with that.

Just because we were camping didn't stop Andrew from practicing his Jedi training.

French toast and sausage for breakfast was delicious.

Ryan was very excited about helping pack up the car. Andrew... not so much.

Down by the lake.

The boys wanted to put their feet in the water, but didn't want to get their shorts wet, so...

He may not have wanted to get his shorts wet, but he had no problem swimming in his Star Wars shirt.

After drying off, playing at the park, and a little snack, we were ready to head home Saturday around noon. The boys told mommy they had a great time, so I guess you could say it was a success.
