Christmas Eve

We started the evening at Nana and Papa's new home with a yummy dinner, but I forgot to take pics of that.

Then Nana read us the book, The Littlest Angel.  This has been our tradition for as long as I can remember.  It is her favorite Christmas story (and mine). Ryan loved it, too and kept interrupting to ask questions throughout the entire story.

After our story, we got our costumes on for our traditional re-enactment of the Nativity story from Luke.  It is always pretty silly and this year was no different.  However, we had no tears this year!  Molly happily put on the sheep costume this year.

Ryan wanted to be a Wiseman.  He was excited to carry the gold.

Andrew has told us he wanted to be Joseph, ever since last Christmas. Emily was Mary, and our stick pony was the donkey that Mary rode to Bethlehem.

Nana was the Star of Bethlehem.

Rachel was the angel.

Papa was King Herod and Caesar.  He was also our narrator. (Yes, that is a Pretty Princess crown).

Chad was a shepherd.

Things went pretty normal at first. But then...

...the sheep decided she needed to ride the "donkey."

Baby Jesus started out as a baby doll.

But then was replaced by...

Lizzie, the dog.

Then the sheep got tired of donkey riding and decided that she needed to take a nap in the angel's lap (while the angel was trying to say her one and only line, I might add).

It would not be a Krueger Christmas pageant if things were normal.  :)

After the pageant, we opened presents from each other.

We packed up our wonderful gifts and headed home.  Poor Ryan got very sick in the car on the 25 minute drive.  He had to take a shower as soon as we got home.  Then we were able to put food for the reindeer on the lawn and cookies and milk out for Santa.
