We have wonderful Cub Scout leaders who planned a super fun Mexican Fiesta for our Blue and Gold Banquet last night. The boys made the decorations. Aren't they awesome?
Andrew invited both sets of grandparents to join us for the evening. Of course Alex and his family were there. AND Aunt Rachel also came and surprised him. He and his cousin Alex had lots of support. (sorry that the only pic we got with everyone looking at the camera has Andrew's eyes shut).
Andrew had earned his Bobcat, his Wolf, his 4 progress beads, and his soccer belt loop....all since the first week of January! I was super proud of him for his hard work.
The Fiesta included a yummy dinner and fun games. All of which were fast paced, hence the blurry shots. The children had such a fun time playing games with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parents!
We played a Mexican soccer relay. Kids versus adults. I played on the kids' team.
Next we headed to a bean and spoon relay race. Here is Ryan trying to outrun his Nana!
And then Grandpa, hoping to beat Molly.
I think my favorite game was this fun version of musical chairs where we passed around a hat. When the music stopped, whoever was wearing the hat got to do a dance for everyone in the middle of the circle. We learned that Alex has some pretty sweet moves!
We ended with a Pinata. Ryan was the one who managed to break it!
There were also some awesome skits! Awesome in the way that only Cub Scout skits can be awesome. Perhaps Chad can get the video uploaded here for me soon.
During the award ceremony, I was also presented an award for my service as a Cubmaster. It was an unexpected surprise.
Thank you to everyone who came to support our son in his Scouting endeavors. And for our wonderful Cub Scout leaders! It was such a fun night!
