Carving Pumpkins

We had a great time carving pumpkins on Monday night.  Daddy had to work late, so it was just Mommy and the kiddos.  So I asked them to each choose their own simple design, so I could help all three of them alone.  I did not have to help the boys very much at all.   They are growing up so fast!

Ryan chose to do Pac Man.  He said it was for him and Dad to share, since Daddy wasn't there to make his own.  Ryan worked so hard and so long.  He scooped out the pumpkin.

And then he spent an hour using the screwdriver to punch out the entire design.  He was so meticulous.  His hand hurt, but he kept going.  He was so proud of himself when he finished.  I was proud of his perseverance.

Andrew wanted to do a wolf.  He found a design he liked and scooped his pumpkin out and punched it out carefully.

Then he decided something was missing, so he added a moon on his own.

Molly was very excited about the IDEA of a pumpkin.  She chose her design.  Then she "Supervised" the scooping out of the pumpkin. I tried to get her to help, but she said it was too messy.  She did help punch out the design from the stencil, though, for as long as her little hand could stand it.
