Emily Is Home

On Thursday afternoon, we got to pick up Emily from the airport, after 18 months in Guatemala.   We had close to 30 people there to see her come off the plane!  What a joyful time!

My kids worked really hard on their signs.  I couldn't get one of Ryan alone holding his sign, he just didn't feel like posing with it.

Our friends the Thompsons accidentally went to the Raleigh airport to see Emily!  Then drove all the way to my parents' house to go out to dinner with us.  They are so wonderful!  After dinner, Chad took the kiddos home, and I went with Emily to be released.

After walking hours a day for 18 months, we treated Emily to a mani/pedi girls' day out the next day.  Molly even got her first manicure at a salon.  She was SOOO grown-up and well behaved.

On Saturday, we had a huge homecoming party.  We had an "All Holiday" themed party, and celebrated all of the holidays we had missed celebrating with Emily the last 18 months.   There was so much yummy food and lots of guests dressed up for their favorite holidays!

My Aunt Annie and Uncle Larry brought sparklers so we could celebrate the Fourth of July.  (Molly was too scared to do it, but the boys loved it)!!!

Our final celebration of the weekend was sending off these beautiful paper lanterns.  I have always wanted to do this ever since seeing the movie Tangled.

We are so grateful for Heavenly Father's tender mercies and the protection He gave to my sister while she served.  I have been inspired by her testimony.  She is a strong and powerful witness for Christ.  I look up so much to my little sister.  She is an amazing woman!
