New School Year at a New School

Our kiddos started school this week at Indian Land Elementary School.  As is our family tradition, each child gave their teachers one of their favorite books for the classroom library.

Andrew is in fourth grade and changes classes between three teachers.  Dr. Lee is his homeroom teacher.   There are 26 kids in his class.  He also gets to attend an amazing Gifted Program once a week called Eagles. He says it is way different than ABES and that he misses his friends and teachers, but says he had a great week anyway.  He gave his teacher a copy of The Lord of the Rings.

Ryan is in second grade with 29 kids in his class.  His teacher is named Mrs. Malone.  After one week, his verdict is that he really likes PE (which our old school did not have), but that he really misses his friends. He says he loves school and has made two new friends there that he likes to talk to! He gave his teacher the first 32 Clues book.

Molly started kindergarten.  And yes, I cried.  Not that anyone will be surprised by that.  There are 26 in Molly's class.  She LOVES school and her teachers and school uniforms and the playground and her friends. She only got to go one day last week, since they have a staggered entry.  So she is excited to go every day this week.  I am excited because I get to be her Room Mom.  I was the kindergarten room mom for both the boys, so I was so happy that they let me here, even though we are brand new.  Her teachers are Mrs. Nunn and Mrs. Starkey. She gave her teachers How Do Dinosaurs Go to School? and a favorite Piggie and Elephant book.

Chad made the kiddos his traditional fun lunches for the first day.  The kids loved them!

We always have the kids write down what they want to be when they grow up on the first day of school, too.  I loved their choices!

The boys were so excited about getting to school, they wouldn't let me take too many pics.  However, Molly posed for tons of cute pics for us!  She sure loves school!!!
