Cookies and Milk with Santa and Mrs. Claus

As a co-chair of the Social Committee in our Neighborhood, I hosted Cookies and Milk with Santa and Mrs. Claus this year with lots and lots and lots of help from over one dozen neighbors and friends. And of course, my 3 amazing children and a husband, who put in untold hours in helping me prepare.  We had over 100 neighborhood children attend.  Have I ever mentioned how much I love this neighborhood and the people who live here? ;)

We had families sign up for time slots ahead of time, so that children would not have to wait in a long line to meet with Santa.

While they waited for their turn to meet with Santa, the children decorated cookies and did Christmas crafts at stations set up near by.  We made little signs that said "Meeting with Santa" so that children could leave their crafts mid progress when it was their turn, and finish upon return.

The Clubhouse Decorating Committee, had each family bring an ornament to add to a children's tree.

Ryan did some of the activities, but spent most of the night outside with his friends.

Andrew wanted to help out. So he spent the entire night greeting guests at the front door.  He took his command post very seriously, and did not leave.

Here are a few of the children who attended.

At the very end of the night, Santa read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to our youngest CR neighbors.

I am very grateful to my friends, Pat and Bob, who arranged for Santa and Mrs. Claus to visit us.
