Fourth of July 2016

We didn't have to leave our neighborhood the entire day and had a wonderful time celebrating with neighbors and family.  We started the day with a neighborhood parade.

Chad and I ended up with the streamers we had tried to give to the kids.

Chad put on quite the one man Patriotic exhibition the entire parade route. I love how he makes me laugh!

Rachel and Antonio joined in the fun, too!

After the parade, Andrew and Ryan participated in a flag ceremony honoring our country and veterans.

We enjoyed a neighborhood potluck together.

 Andrew made and decorated cupcakes.

Ryan made and decorated a cake.

Molly ate a lot of watermelon she picked out to bring.

Our friends generously rented a slide for the day which our children and all of the children in the neighborhood enjoyed!

After playing in the pool and on the slide all afternoon, we headed to the Larsens for a cookout.

We watched fireworks outside in the street all three nights this weekend!  The displays were as large or larger than the ones we used to go and watch that were put on by cities!

Although it is not quite the same as it was back on Heidelbury, I am glad that we still get to enjoy a parade, picnic, and fireworks with family and friends on the 4th in our new home.
